How do I get to the the Zaanse Schans by train?
From Amsterdam you take the ‘Sprinter’, direction Uitgeest, from Alkmaar you take the ‘Sprinter’, direction Rotterdam. You get of at the stop Koog-Zaandijk. You take the exit on the left side and follow the signs ‘Zaanse Schans’. When you cross the bridge, stay on the sidewalk till you reach the parking lot on your left hand. On your right hand you will see the Zaans Museum. From the station to the museum it is approximately a 10 to 15 minutes walk.

Where is information available about the Zaanse Schans?
There is an information desk in the Zaans Museum. From 9.00 to 17.00 you can visit this desk for information, or you can visit the website: www.zaanseschansmuseum.nl

Are pets allowed at the Zaanse Schans?
Pets are allowed but not in the shops en musea. Seeing-eye dogs are allowed, provided they are on the job.

Are there guided tours at the Zaanse Schans?
Both written and telephone bookings can be made at the Zaanse Schans Information Desk in the Zaanse Museum seven days a week between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Members of staff are always happy to be of assistance, to make arrangements or reservations.

Are there also multilingual guides?
It is possible to book a multilingual guide for a tour. The minimum is a group of 10 persons.

Is the Zaanse Schans accessible for disabled people?
The Zaanse Schans is accessible for disabled people. In the Zaans Museum is an adapted toilet.

Is the Verkade Paviljoen a part of the Zaans Museum?
The Verkade Paviljoen is a part of the Zaans Museum. When the acquisition of the Verkade Company Collection was a fact, the Zaans Museum decided to build a new wing, to exhibit the Verkade Collection permanently. This new wing was named Verkade Paviljoen.

Are there wheelchairs available?
Yes, in the Zaans Museum are two wheelchairs available. You can book them in advantage if you like. We will only ask an ID as a guarantee.

Are there parking places for disabled people?
At the parking lot of the Zaanse Schans, at the entrance of the museum, there are two parking places for disabled people. You will have to pay the usual parking fee though, because the parking lot is being leased.
